Huntsville women's race results

Congratulations to the BooKoo/BBC women for strong finishes in the Spring City Cycling Club Omnium! Here are the results:

Road Race:  Elizabeth 1st, Beth 4th (1st cat 4), Stacey 6th (4th Cat 1/2/3), Amy (6th cat 4), Meridith (8th cat 4), Kelly (6th cat 1/2/3), Maaike (8th cat 1/2/3), Sally (9th cat 4)

Time Trial: Elizabeth 3rd (Cat 1/2/3), Maaike 5th (Cat 1/2/3), Meredith 1st (cat 4)

Criterium: Elizabeth 3rd, Beth 6th (2nd cat 4), Kelly 7th (5th Cat 1/2/3), Maaike (8th Cat 1/2/3), Meridith (6th Cat 4), Brooke (4th cat 4)

Special congrats to Meridith for a 1st place Cat 4 omnium finish!

AL State Championship Medals:

• Cat 2: Elizabeth - Gold RR & TT, Stacey - Bronze RR
• Cat 3: Kelly - Gold RR, Maaike - Silver RR, Gold TT
• Cat 4: Beth - Gold RR, Meridith - Gold TT

In the women's road race, we were subjected to several attacks on the second lap by a veritable opponent, Debbie Milne. Later on in the 2nd lap, Debbie was sidelined with derailleur problems, and a group of six determined women (three BooKoos included - Elizabeth, Stacey and Beth) worked together until ending in a sprint finish.

The women's crit started out fast and furious, and a breakaway group of three (including Elizabeth) lapped the main field later in the race. At the end, everyone powered through the uphill sprint finish, with Elizabeth clinching third place.

Congrats to David McNeal who placed 4th and Darrell O'Quinn who placed 7th (Cat 3) in the Allanti Classic Road Race in Nashville last weekend.

GA Cup Dahlonega and Meridian overview (from Tim)
The masters were rolling in Dahlonega scoring a 2nd place on GC from Doug P., circuit race Doug P 2nd, Terry 5th, RR Terry 9th, and in the TT, Doug P 5th. Great work from those two guys flying the colors in GA! Checking the standings in the GA Cup. Doug P. is in 1st for the overall and 2nd for the KOM and MAR categories.

Meanwhile over in Meridian here is how we fared: Great work across all the categories!

Women's: Maaike got 4th in the CT, 8th in the RR, and 5th overall; Beth was 7th in the CT, 7th in the RR and 7th overall.

Cat4: Mo 1st in the CT, 9th in the RR and 1st overall

Cat3: David 1st in the RR and 2nd overall, 5th in the RR and CT for 4th overall, Darrell 4th in the CT and 9th in the RR for 10th overall, Tony 6th in the CT and 11th overall.

River Gorge race recap (from Tim)
We were represented really well which promoters always notice and this weekend was no exception. I was thanked repeatedly for all of us showing up and supporting the race. On top of that it was a good weekend for racing in the hills and flats of Chattanooga where Bookoo/BBC landed some great placing across all the categories. Thanks to everyone who was there racing. *Sorry for not listing TT results but they are not officially up yet*
